Tim Stirrup, ASP, CHMM
Tim Stirrup has volunteered over the past 30 years to support and lead professional member organizations on both the local and national levels. He is currently the Operational Vice President (OVP) of Communications for the International System Safety Society (ISSS) and the Past President for the New Mexico Society of Hazardous Material Managers. Historically, Tim helped to lead efforts as a Vice President/President of the local Air & Waste Management Society to increase membership and diversify monthly technical meetings.
Tim has Bachelor of Science degrees in both Biology and Chemistry from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NM Tech). Tim is a Registered Environmental Manager, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Associate Safety Professional, Industrial Hygienist, Qualified Nuclear Safety Analyst, Pressure Safety Advisor, and more recently, Laser Safety Officer. He is qualified internationally with the National Irish Safety Organization (NISO) Certificate in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work. Tim has over 30 years of experience as an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional working for a diverse group of large and small firms as well as international and local firms. In addition to his principal-level technical experience, his professional roles have included Office Manager (Radian International), Vice President (URS/Outrider Environmental), and Business Partner (Parvati). He is a Principal EHS Professional with Parvati Consulting, LLC., a woman-owned, small business based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tim has provided professional EHS services to many NNSA and EM facilities in the DOE Complex, DOD/AF bases, and privately/commercial facilities over the past three decades. He has managed and/or helped manage multimillion dollar projects for clients as well as (much) smaller budgets for professional organizations.
Tim is respected for his ability to create highly functional teams and solve diverse, complex problems with right-sized solutions. Tim strives to provide organizational focus and direction for continued success. Tim is continually asked by clients, peers, and professionals in the EHS community to present at both local and national EHS conferences. Tim believes professional member organizations exist to support members and professional member organizations must be relevant for member’s needs.responsible and good business, leading to increased productivity, a better reputation and higher employee satisfaction.
