Speaker Janet M. Kerley, CHMM, Environmental, Health and Safety Instructor, SFCC Continuing Education & Contract Training

Janet M. Kerley is a nationally recognized environmental, health and safety professional with over 25 years’ experience in EPA, OSHA, and DOT compliance and training in the public and private sectors.  She is currently an ES&H instructor at Santa Fe Community College but was previously the founder and President of two environmental consulting firms (Monteverde Environmental Consultants and Lead-Rite) providing services to a wide range of commercial, industrial, utilities, and mining businesses. Janet served on the Boards of Directors of the NM Association of Commerce and Industry, Environmentally-Conscious Manufacturing Institute, NM National Association of Women Business Owners and the National Small Business Association.  She was elected to represent NM at the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business and continued to serve as the Region VI Chair of Environmental Issues representative for five years.  As Chair of the Environmental and Regulatory Committee of NSBA, she worked to establish the EPA Self Disclosure Policy, legislation for the Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, EPA Brownfields, OSHA Small Business assistance programs and provided technical expert testimony in the remanding of the OSHA Ergonomic Standard.  For several years, she was Steering Committee Member and Fellow of the Center for Small Business and the Environment which coordinated the efforts of small business and environmentalists on energy and environmental issues.
